We checked in at 3pm and a storm hit at 6 pm knocking power out. The back up generator only operates lights for 1 hour so since we were on the fourth floor had to climb stair with a flash light. Someone tried to come in our room later that night so barricaded the door with a chair so we could sleep after our 10 hour drive. Next morning power still not on and front desk said it would be on by afternoon so we went about our day. Came back no electricity so packed our bags and stayed at daughter’s apartment. Front doors remained open all night/all day. Pitch black in rooms, halls, stairwells- totally unsafe conditions and to top it off- not a single worker in sire! Turned keys in to front desk next day and manager happened to be there said everyone would be emailed and issued refunds. Was there in area four days and the hotel never regained full power. I have yet to receive email, refund or anything even after emails/calls I made to follow up. So disappointed in Holiday Inn. As a travel agent I will be advising my clients to stay way from Holiday Inns and book elsewhere!
